About Plumsmidge Post
Plumsmidge Post is a cosy snail mail club for readers, set on a magical island called Plumsmidge, where the skies are violet, potions are brewed, and every ear is a little pointed.
It is available in two tiers.
Tier 1: Fresh Plum
Every month you will receive:
- A letter from Gem, including a sneak peek of the next month and a link to a playlist to listen to as you enjoy your magical mail.
- A letter from Penelope Fudge, Plumsmidge's resident writer, with news of the latest Plumsmidge goings-on.
- An original short story of around 3,000 words.
- An illustration of the main character in the story.
Tier 2: Ripe Plum
Every month you will receive:
- A letter from Gem, including a sneak peek of the next month and a link to a playlist to listen to as you enjoy your magical mail.
- A letter from Penelope Fudge, Plumsmidge's resident writer, with news of the latest Plumsmidge goings-on.
- An original short story of around 3,000 words.
- An illustration of the main character in the story.
- The front page of The Royal Plum newspaper.
- A Plumsmidge creature card or botanical card.
- A bookmark from the Plumsmidge book club.
- A vinyl sticker.
- And one extra paper treasure.
New members also receive a Plumsmidge membership card and a vinyl sticker featuring the Plumsmidge mail mouse. Founding members also receive an adoption certificate for a Plumsmidge moon rabbit and will receive further updates for the duration of their subscription.
The Inspiration
I live on a beautiful blustery island in the U.K. The world of Plumsmidge was born when I began to imagine an enchanted version of my own island, where the skies are violet, the stars golden, and the people not quite human at all. There are potions and ghostlings and curious creatures. It is a wonderfully whimsical version of my home.
About me
Hi, I'm Gem.
I live on the Jurassic Coast with my dogs Buddy and Anne. I love to read, write, draw, and walk along the cliffs, particularly on blustery days. I am in my final year of a BA in Creative Writing and it is a lifelong dream of mine to write for a living. Plumsmidge Post is making that dream come true!
Every edition of Plumsmidge Post is imagined, written, illustrated and carefully assembled by hand from my home on the island that inspired it.
Meet the Plumsmidge Pups/Guardians of the Mail
Buddy (named after Buddy the Elf) is a four year old poodle who loves walks, toys, and bird watching. He does not like ladders, anything that beeps, or anything that buzzes. Anne (named after Anne Shirley Cuthbert) is a one year old cockapoo who loves food, playing, and gathering things in the garden into a tidy pile. She does not like the garden hose. They will guard your mail and send it off with a sniff and a tail wag.
